Our Mission

To provide quality volunteer and professional services for children and youth, to assist them in acheiving their hightest potential as they grow to become responsible men and women.

Elk County Vision Statement

Big Brothers Big Sisters is the leader in one-to one youth service, with a history of proven success in creating positive friendships that benefit children, volunteers, families, and the community.  Being a part of this wonderful organization, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Elk County has a vision to effectively mentor and serve all at-risk youth in Elk County.  Big Brothers Big Sisters of Elk County will strive to connect these children with caring adults, offering each child an increased sense of hope and excitement for the future, while building a friendship that lasts a lifetime.

To acheive our vision, Big Brother Big Sisters of Elk County will:

Ensure the programs's long-term financial stability.      
Build countywide awareness of the Big Brothers Big Sisters brand of mentoring.     
Explore alternative programs to increase the number of children served.     
Strengthen all leadership and management structures within Big Brothers Big Sister of Elk County to build the program capacity for accelerated growth.      

McKean County Vision Statement

Being a part of the largest youth mentoring organization in the country serving children, families and communities, Big Brothers Big Sisters of McKean County has a vision to provide caring adults in the life of every child in need.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of McKean County leads the way in uniting children with committed volunteers to form professionally supported, one-to-one dynamic relationships.  The work of Big Brothers Big Sisters is as elementary as putting a friend in a child’s life, and as essential as putting hope into a child’s future.

To achieve our vision, Big Brothers Big Sisters of McKean County will establish the necessary mechanisms and resources to continue our commitment to all individuals regardless of abilities and differences.

To achieve our vision, Big Brothers Big Sisters of McKean County will:

Explore new avenues of funding for the program, while maintaining and improving current sources of revenue.   

Build county-wide awareness of the Big Brothers Big Sisters brand of mentoring.  

Position school-based mentoring and other forms of site-based mentoring as our growth strategy to complement community-based mentoring.  

Strengthen all leadership and management structures and focus heavily on building the capacity of our program to accelerate its growth.
